John McCarthy - Engineering Associate, Processing Engineering, Kilkenny, Ireland

My colleagues have a strong work ethic and we're always striving to get better but we still have a lot of fun in and outside of work. I have made some really good friends at Glanbia and the atmosphere is great.

Hard work pays off in Glanbia, you will see the benefit and get the recognition you deserve if you work to the best of your ability.

Lauren Parker - Controls Engineer for GPN, Aurora Plant, US

The quality of my work spoke for me and showed my capability. There is always that sense that you must “prove yourself” vs. being accepted as the professional. Even if the bias is not explicitly negative or hurtful, the fact that there is a bias or surprise, or the assumption that a woman is not the one that is going to do a task, is the reality that women like myself must face in our careers.

Follow your dreams. Go for the job you want. Don’t feel the pressure to do a specific job because that is what is thought of a woman should or shouldn’t do. The main objective is to do something that you love so that work is not a chore.
