Role Profile:

As Branch Manager you will report to the Area Operations Manager and will be accountable for the commercial performance of the Athboy branch and its impact on the communities it serves. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the branch including sales, resourcing, inventory management, merchandising, health & safety and maintaining the retail excellence standards defined for the Agribusiness branch network. You will also be responsible for collaborating with the Customer Relationship Managers in your area to drive cross-channel performance by delivering the highest standards of solutions and services to our customers.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Developing the future sales strategy for the site to ensure that operating profit is exceeded on an annual basis
  • Managing the branch in line with the set annual budgets
  • Developing customer relationships and providing an excellent standard of customer service
  • Growing sales across all our product ranges in Agri and Retail.
  • Managing the day-to-day operations, people, and costs.
  • Actively developing the staff reporting to you and managing succession on the site
  • Ensuring efficient and timely stock management
  • Ensuring the branch presentation is to the highest retail standards.
  • Managing all stakeholders including internal and external stakeholders, local advisory committees etc.
  • Adhering fully to all Glanbia policies, processes and procedures.
  • Living the Glanbia Values on a daily basis.



  • The successful candidate would ideally have a professional qualification in Agriculture or a related discipline.
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service to all customers both in Agri and Retail.
  • A strong and wide knowledge of all Agri sectors.
  • Have an excellent understanding of retail standards and possess a flair and keen interest in this area.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems- SAP, EPOS and Microsoft Office.



  • Be highly motivated with the ability to lead and develop a team of people.
  • Have strong communication skills and an ability to work within a team environment.
  • Be results orientated and possess a keen commercial acumen.
