As Financial Controller responsibilities will include all accounting, financial/management reporting, and external financial reporting. This includes the establishment and maintenance of finance systems, policies, procedures and controls.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the monthly management reports including the identification, investigation and explanation of underlying variances in performance
  • Supports the FD in the budgeting process and short/long term forecasting
  • Management and reporting of cash flow
  • Liaison with Glanbia Group to ensure smooth consolidation of UK results and support with ad hoc information requests
  • Supports the FD and Commercial Director (CD) with commercial planning and evaluation
  • Management/oversight of accounts receivable and payable to ensure that balances are collected/paid on time
  • Liaison with all functional teams to ensure that commitments and expenditure is monitored and controlled
  • Review and approval of monthly payroll
  • Monitoring of trade promotion and retailer investment costs as agreed with the Sales Managers to ensure that these costs are adequately managed and controlled
  • Review and approval of weekly payment runs
  • Liaison with the outsourced teams (whilst retaining overall responsibility) for general ledger processing, payroll, tax and intrastat returns, and preparation of annual accounts
  • Transaction authoriser as described in the Delegation of Authority policy
  • Development of IT systems and processes
  • Keeping up to date on changes to accounting standards and tax legislation
  • Take on delegated authority and responsibilities from the FD when the FD is away for periods of a week or more
  • Management of the external audit process
  • Support with ad hoc requests and projects
  • Supervision of finance contractors where required
