IT Service Desk Technician


A vacancy has arisen for an IT Service Desk Technican at Glanbia PLC based in our Aurora office. This is a permanent position, providing technical support to users based at this location and across the globe.  This role will report to the Service Desk Supervisor. 


Key deliverables of the role

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents on a wide variety of commercial and proprietary software via telephone and on-site support.
  • Provide desktop hardware and software incident identification and resolution for all PCs and related equipment following documentation with minimal supervision.
  • Provide detailed documentation in the call tracking system.
  • Coordinate and transition support to 2nd and 3rd level support when required.
  • Reset user passwords as required.
  • Build PCs and install Glanbia approved software via SCCM.
  • Conduct follow-ups to ensure incident resolution and/or service requests are completed to user satisfaction.



  • ITIL knowledge/training/certification
  • Experience with LANDesk, Citrix, VMWare and SAP ECC 6 a plus.
  • Microsoft Certification a plus.


Skills & experience

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a customer service oriented, service desk environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft OS: XP/Win 7/Win 10, Microsoft Office Suite, VPN & Remote Access, Network & Administration, Hardware: Desktops, laptops, Smartphones, Keyboard/Mice, Monitors, etc., Peripherals: Printers, Handheld Scanners, etc.
  • Ability to resolve incidents over the phone using remote utilities.
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
