Description
|
• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
|
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
|
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
|
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
|
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
|
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
|
• Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
|
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
|
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
|
• Performs minor and major repair of equipment.
|
• Performs preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc., repairs or replaces broken parts
|
• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
|
• Monitor and maintain part inventories working with Requisitions Clerk to obtain parts/supplies in a timely manner as to not disrupt production activities.
|
• Confer with personnel, such as Management, Engineering, Quality control, and Production Supervisors/Leads to coordinate work activities.
|
• Oversee preparation of work instructions that provide direction to the Maintenance Team for corrective maintenance repairs, performance of preventive maintenance and the implementation of modifications.
|
• Conduct equipment walk-downs to identify and analyze corrective and preventive maintenance.
|
• Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss products used in repair work.
|
• Implement and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures as directed by Maintenance Manager.
|
• Participate in employee evaluations and assist employees to correct job skill opportunities.
|
• Monitor vacation schedule of Maintenance Team to ensure plant has adequate support.
|
• Plan weekend assignments and communicate to affected departments as to the scope of work and how this work may affect the following weeks start up.
