Logistics Operation Specialist

Job Summary:  Responsible for day to day truck load building, delivery note creation, and customer backhaul management activities

 

Essential Functions

  • Create & optimize truck loads for customer shipments
  • Create delivery notes for Warehouse
  • Support End to End processes of order fulfillment
  • Manage Customer Backhaul loads by properly scheduling appointments through predetermined methods, report on time failures to customer, and act as GPN liaison with customer
  • Assist, where applicable, in policies and procedures documenting of that department
  • Report and communicate predetermined daily/weekly/monthly reports assigned by Logistics Operations Manager
  • Support Functional and Cross Functional Special Projects
  • Maintain set Logistics Operations KPIs & Cost Reduction Projects
  • Update department worksheets as needed
  • Effectively communicate with other departments
  • Other duties assigned by reporting Supervisor/Manager
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in a Warehouse/Food industry/Manufacturing
  • Excellent Organizational Skills – file keeping, prepared for meetings, etc.
  • Computer experience
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Able to document reports about the department
    • Able to communicate through email including attachments
    • Able to navigate through SAP System & 3PL WMS/Reporting Universes when required
  • Have excellent communication skills (reading, writing, speaking in English)
    • Ability to communicate with all levels of management
    • Ability to clearly communicate with all types of employees


Decision Making/ Problem Solving:

  • Engage Customer Service for outstanding truckload optimization needs
  • Create delivery notes
  • Send out electronic updates and spreadsheets

     

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous  Clerical work experience preferred or written Supervisor recommendation

 

  • Work Environment:

  • Work with known allergens – Occasional
    • Most common allergens found in the plant/warehouse environment include, but are not limited to, milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanut and tree nut
  • Work with powders – Occasional
