Machine Operator I- 3rd Shift

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">General Summary: <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for the operations of different types of manufacturing equipment including maintaining and adjusting machines during operations and downtime cleaning activities.

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Essential Functions:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Support and abide by the company’s safety program and all safety initiatives, policies and procedures.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Report all injuries to the Supervisor immediately
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ensure that work procedures are being followed in a consistent manner (Safety, Quality, GMP, MAV, HACCP)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Know and Understand lock out/tag procedures in the department
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform safety inspections and be aware of all the safety points on the machines
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Be able to successfully perform setups on manufacturing machines assigned to
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Trouble-shoot defects and own the quality of the products
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Understand the differences in powders and be able to successfully perform the procedures associated with allergen and flavor cleans
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Communicate with the appropriate Leadership if issues arise in regards to safety and/or quality issues
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Responsible for filling out paper reports correctly and clearly (parts, allergen clean and flavor change sheets, safety audits, etc.)
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Complete monthly training courses
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Collaborate with other departments for process improvements
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  N95 Respirator, lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses, bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, and nitrile gloves
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Perform other duties as assigned

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:   Basic information of the position

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge of or familiar with GMP’s/HACCP
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to operate a machine with the knowledge of changing over parts
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Proficiently operate all line equipment assigned to with Quality ownership of the process
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Knowledge of batch recording and material handling procedures
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Basic math skills
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Basic computer skills (using SAP System and RF scan guns)

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">  Decision Making/ Problem Solving:<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> Give at least 3 examples of the types of decisions this job will typically make without higher level approval.

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Identify defects on the line or work area and immediately communicate to the appropriate leadership member.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Working with the maintenance department on improvements
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Changing parts of the machines to operate with different types of products

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Education/Experience:

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience in Food environment or Consumer product
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Experience using WMS or ERP system with RF scanning a plus

 

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">PHYSICAL DEMANDS: <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">(The work is classified as Light - Medium Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept. of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles.)

<span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lifting Demands: 

  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lift up to 55 lbs. on an occasional basis 6 inches off Ground to Waist.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Lift up to 30 lbs. on an occasional basis Waist to Shoulder.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Carry up to 55 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 5 ft.
  • <span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Be able to pull a 55lb bag from a height of 60 inches on an occasional basis.
