Production Scheduler

Job Summary:

  • This position is responsible for supporting the Scheduling Supervisor when creating, tracking, and reporting daily production, and making the most efficient use of the time and resources to meet customer demand.  This involves:  order tracking, keeping track of production numbers & KPIs and adjust when necessary, anticipate potential bottlenecks that can affect output, keep constant communication with supportive departments to maintain steady workflow, and take on task and projects as needed.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Create, track and report daily production schedule and KPI’s
  • Set daily production goals and determine schedule priorities based on line capacity making the most efficient use of the time and resources ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Responsible for scheduling orders to meet promised dates and optimize productivity
  • Work with the manufacturing department to actively manage daily production schedule, revise schedules to accommodate and expedite rush orders
  • Manage and coordinate special tasks or projects as needed
  • Participate in daily production meetings
  • Work with multiple departments to maintain workflow and resolve issues
  • Keep track of problematic orders

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

 

Knowledge of the position

  • Math
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Basic knowledge of machine and equipment capabilities
  • Order Processing and accounting practices
  • Understand product mix (Allergens and Flavors)
  • Understand manufacturing process

Skills of the position

  • SAP knowledgeable
  • Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Organizational skills
  • Problem solving

  • Ability to clearly communicate, written and verbally, at different levels of management, employees and outside vendors
  • Ability to quickly change direction, make good decisions, and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a daily basis

Decision Making/ Problem Solving:

  • Assigns production resources based on orders needed and determines  how to maximize efficiency
  • Plans daily targets and production requirements     
  • Ability to back up Scheduling Supervisor 

               

Education/Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years of production scheduling or PO Processing experience
  • 1 Year of experience  Supply Chain or Manufacturing
  • Specialized training:  SAP and JDA a plus
  • Other requirements: Intermediate Excel, Power Point and Word
