Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

Responsible for leading, organizing, training, and developing Production employees using metrics in a Continuous Improvement environment for all lines and plant operations.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform first level Leadership providing support, coaching, and direction to the Manufacturing work team.
  • Provide the Business and Technical Leadership necessary to achieve or exceed metrics in Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Cost Management.
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment of problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams, business areas, and functional areas.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are being followed in a consistent manner.
  • Report production on a daily basis.
  • Write procedures and SOP’s and is instrumental in the implementation and training of the procedures, both new and existing.
  • Responsible for quality and quantity of production output, and employee training, and skills assessment/development.
  • Interface in Collaboration with Quality Control, Accounting, Marketing, and R&D departments.
  • Ensure plant personnel practice safe work habits and follow safety rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the position
    • Experience managing Continuous Improvement through manufacturing metrics (PROBLEM SOLVING[sRCA],MES/5S/OEE/LEAN MANUFACTURING)
    • Knowledge and Experience with Food Production Equipment.
    • Experience in food and/or consumer products environment.
    • Advanced knowledge of GMP/HACCP
  • Abilities for the position
    • Ability to facilitate work teams
    • Ability to manage and develop team members
    • Able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift

 

Decision Making/ Problem Solving: 

  • Manage/adjust plant operations and schedules to ensure the most effective use of personnel, materials, equipment and other company resources.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement activities, processes and standards to maintain and improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Monitor and correct employee actions or behaviors to ensure adherence with required Company policies, procedures, systems and rules.

               

Education/Experience:  

  • Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least ten years of production supervisory experience in a manufacturing plant
