Process Engineer

General Summary:  Manage and execute process and plant engineering projects in direct support of manufacturing, maintenance, and facilities.  Prepare project cost estimates, justifications and schedules for projects, and maintain documentation as required. This position oversees and provides training and technical direction for engineering projects.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare cost justification and obtain funding for projects through the CER Process
  • Create and edit plant drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Understand product requirements and ensure that they are met.
  • Maintain responsibility for funding control on all assigned projects
  • Manage and direct in-house and contract resources on the implementation of Projects
  • Prepare CAD drawings, documentation, and files for assigned projects
  • Establish programs of work measurement in order to guarantee fulfillment of targets and deadlines.
  • Manage and direct projects that address safety, efficiency, quality improvement and cost savings
  • Drive the capital planning process as directed.
  • Liaison Operations, Maintenance and Quality in problem solving/rectification as requested
  • Analyze Operations issues and provide reports and recommendations on costs and solutions as requested
  • Provide Technical Training Support to Operators/Mechanics and other personnel as required or requested
  • Prepare CAPEX Forecast and Cash Flow Estimates for Process & Packaging Projects

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Working knowledge of CAD
  • Spreadsheets and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Food Manufacturing Experience is a plus
  • Strong Leadership and Project Management skills
  • Technical Expertise in designing/selecting Process and Packaging Equipment

 

Education/Experience:

  • BSME, BSIE or equivalent Engineering or Technical Degree
  • 3+ Years + Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Food industry expereince is a plus
