General Summary:  This position is responsible for overseeing the management of the Food Safety Program and the Compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s) per Food Industry Regulations including but not limited to Pre-Requisite Programs.


Essential Functions:

  • Help Maintain Food Safety Management System compliance to stated FDA regulations per 21 CFR part 111 and 117.
  • Knowledge of the requirements needed to satisfy a good Food Safety Management System (HACCP, HARPC, FSMA, Environmental Monitoring, Sanitation, Housekeeping, Allergens, Traceability, Documentation, Training, etc...).
  • Help to write quality procedures that are pertinent to the manufacture of safe products.  The implementation and training of these procedures will be disseminated from the quality department.
  • Review sanitation SOPs and contribute to implemented training and documentation of execution of said SOPs.
  • Contributing to Continuous improvement of both existing and new procedures.  Including quality, sanitation, safety, and manufacturing.
  • Responsible for performing and/or leading monthly GMP audits.
  • Supervise Quality Teams for all operational shifts including but not limited to schedule, payroll, overtime, daily tasks, disciplinary process in coordination with Quality Supervisors.
  • Responsible for reporting updates to Material Review Board (MRB) for decisions and dispositions on Out of Specification (OOS) materials.
  • Responsible for Direct Observation Audits on Quality Personnel in all shifts to evaluate performance according to Food Safety Management System.
  • Responsible for performing PDP evaluations per stated frequencies for direct reports.
  • Able to provide support and coverage for management duties at other facilities if needed.
  • Perform other duties as determined by Quality Management in order to support the GPN business.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Advanced knowledge of 21 CFR Part 111 & 117 cGMPs, HACCP, HARPC, and FSMA regulations.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge or certification in ISO, NSF, and other certifying bodies.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Office programs.


Decision Making/ Problem Solving:

  • Participates on decision for releases for OOS materials in coordination with other Quality groups.
  • Participates on Simple Root Cause investigations (sRC) cross-functionally.
  • Participates actively on task performance related to Quality and delegates to staff as required for growth and learning opportunities.



  • Bachelors Degree, in Science Preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry, particularly with health/dietary supplement/nutritional food.
  • Experience with Standards of Procedure (development, implementation and education).
  • Years of experience: 5 years minimum and 1 year minimum as Quality Supervisor
  • Specialized training in: ISO, NSF, SQF, PCQI, and other certifying bodies.
  • Active affiliations: Preferable but not a requirement.
