Quality Supervisor

General Summary:  Supervise daily activities of direct reports to ensure Quality functions adhere to company policies and procedures relating to Good Manufacturing Practice compliance.


Essential Functions:

  • Lead quality efforts related to testing and disposition of raw materials, in-process and finished products including the management of testing data.
  • Schedule direct reports to line assignments per day/shift and submit PTO/Vacation requests.
  • Participate in monthly internal GMP audits and report audit findings.
  • Perform daily inspections of the facility and report any GMP violations for correction.
  • Write procedures and work instructions where needed.
  • Conduct training for the implementation of new and existing procedures.
  • Participate in scheduled mock trace activities and third party audits.
  • Conduct observation audits of direct reports to ensure performed tasks are adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to the Food Safety Plan and Prerequisite Programs during manufacturing activities.
  • Participate in the investigation of customer/consumer complaints.
  • Participate in coordinating activities in Environmental program.
  • Perform other duties as determined by Quality Management in order to support the GPN business.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 111 & 117 cGMPs, HACCP, HARPC, and FSMA regulations.
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and MS Office programs.


Decision Making/ Problem Solving:

  • Ability to make rational decisions based on data.
  • Participates on Simple Root Cause investigations (sRC) cross-functionally.
  • Monitor activities and implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures and the Food Management System.



  • Bachelors Degree, Preferred
  • Experience in the food industry, particularly with health/dietary supplement/nutritional food.
  • Experience with Standards of Procedure (development, implementation and education).
  • Years of experience: 2 years minimum in the food industry, particularly with health/dietary supplement/nutritional food.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (The work is classified as Light - Medium Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept. of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles.)

Frequencies: Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)


Lifting Demands:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to waist.
  • Carry up to 30 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 10 feet.
