The Region Sales Manager Immediate Consumption role- is responsible for developing and driving sales of and profits through new channels of trade, new customers and regional distributors through clear customer focus, effective business planning using a fact based approach to understand opportunities, strengths and objectives. Previous successful regional/national retail account and sales experience and/or distributor management experience is critical to effective job performance. This role will be remote and work from home, with travel required.  Preferred location is Southern California, anywhere from the Los Angeles area south to San Diego.

 

The candidate for this position must possess experience that demonstrates an understanding of the complexities of prospecting new customers for our Immediate Consumption Ready to Drink portfolio. In addition, the candidate must possess a proficiency in regional/national retail account sales management, managing distributor relationships, deal management techniques, merchandising, promotion development and possess the ability to utilize the appropriate techniques and skills to gain the customer support for identified opportunities.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Prospect and acquire new DSD partners and retail customers within the targeted channels including Convenience.
  • Manage existing regional drink distributor network
  • Manage existing and newly acquired account portfolio to ensure achievement of account growth/dollar objectives.
  • Build strong customer relationships that result in partnership opportunities which drive sales, market share and profit.
  • Ability to interact with Senior Management/Ownership of customer base
  • Provide account specific promotional plans and recommendations to Director Sales Immediate Consumption to ensure achievement of account growth goals and develop ongoing customer plans that are in alignment with corporate and customer goals.
  • Develop and execute the process of account specific trade marketing and promotional plans.
  • Have demonstrated experience building account customer relationships.
  • Previous experience providing strategy and direction to customers and employees.
  • Demonstrate effective (internal or external) people management skills.
  • Ability to penetrate the account at all levels adding value to the process.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work and customer demands. 
  • Account specific strategic business plans.
  • Sales forecasting.
  • Deal spending within budget.
  • Distribution and merchandising recommendations for accounts
  • Pricing and promotion recommendations for account.
  • Ability to travel to meet customer needs.
  • Previous experience in Trade Marketing.
  • Working knowledge of Consumer Insights and application potential.
  • Demonstrated ability to penetrate the account at all levels adding value to the process.

 

Required Experience and Education

  • Minimum of 5 years of account management experience, demonstrated success in account acquisition, preferably with larger CPG organizations
  • Level of Education:
    • Beverage Experience Preferred
    • College degree preferred
    • Based in the West Region (California Preferred)
