Essential Functions:

  • Perform general sanitation throughout the buildings including, but not limited to cleaning of rest areas, production lines and office areas.
  • Assist in allergen cleans.
  • Provide detail cleaning and small project tasks in office areas and support areas.
  • Operate sanitation equipment, i.e. riding floor scrubbers/steam cleaning machine.
  • Change Schubert/Torit filters.
  • Load recycled bales onto trailer.
  • Capable of performing low level maintenance duties including, but not to, drywall repair, painting, picture hanging, window cleaning etc.
  • Must be able to work out of doors as required to maintain grounds around the facility.
  • Ability to perform these essential functions without direct supervision.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):  N95 Respirator, lab coat, safety shoes, safety glasses, bump cap, hearing protection, hair net, beard net, and nitrile gloves
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Higher level of skill and attention to detail required.
  • Basic understanding of industrial cleaning/sanitizing chemicals.
  • Basic pest control identification of stored product pest and rodents.  
  • PIT Certification, including Scissor lift /fall protection 

 
Education/Experience:

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Must have 1 year prior food plant sanitation experience.
  • Working knowledge of the operation of electric floor scrubbers & industrial vacuums.

The work is classified as Medium Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept. of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles.

Frequencies: Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)

 

Lifting Demands:

  • Lift up to 55 lbs. on an occasional basis 6 inches off Ground to Waist.
  • Lift up to 30 lbs. on a frequent basis up to 10 feet.

       

Postural Demands:

  • Standing – Continuous
  • Walking – Continuous
  • Bending/stooping – Frequent
  • Overhead reach/lift – Frequent
  • Step ladder, 4 steps (accent and decent) – Occasional

 

Work Environment:

  • Work with known allergens – Frequent
    • Most common allergens found in the plant/warehouse environment include, but are not limited to, milk, soy, wheat, egg, peanut and tree nut
  • Work with powders – Frequent
