Senior Financial Analyst

 

A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Financial Analyst at Glanbia Business Services based in Aurora, IL. This position will report to the Shared Services Director, NA. This position is anticipated to begin remote for now but will return to an office location when it is safe to do so.

 

Status: Exempt

 

Role Summary

This is a lead position responsible for accounting and general banking activity in a Shared Services function supporting our U.S. business units and coordinated in conjunction with corporate direction and guidelines. The role supports compliance and control within accounting, finance, and bank related functions between company divisions, and interacts with corporate finance and accounting.

 

Key Deliverables of the Role

  • Lead Shared Services Centre US Treasury and Accounting function to enforce schedules, ensure compliance, develop plans to manage workloads, identify opportunities, and progress the accuracy and efficiency of assignments in support of SSC’s and overall organization.
  • Participate in, contribute to, and lead change and process improvement initiatives. Establish rapport and build partnerships with company business units, report relative performance, identify opportunities, manage growth, and develop department toward positive and effective change.
  • Own and complete daily banking and payment processes for all of North America in partnership with other team members.
  • Complete intercompany accounting, journal entry, and month-end reconciliations in conjunction with Corporate Accounting
  • Support financial forecasting, cash flow, and general financial planning in the business units by posting bank payments in a timely manner. 
  • Resolve ad hoc queries and issues with Accounting and Treasury
  • Compile and distribute relevant financial information to various company business units as appropriate.
  • Complete SAP system testing as part of implementing new processes or integrations to ensure finance and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with finance projects, including company growth and integration tasks
  • Support accounting/finance functions as needed by providing back up and context for questions on payments.
  • Share knowledge/skill with others on the team and develop/ train as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college, or university; and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Prior experience with SAP ERP system required.
  • Ability to map and create process improvements.
  • Supervisory skills and experience leading a small team a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
