Senior Human Resources Manager

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Human Resources creates positive business relationships to drive an engaging culture and establishes strong HR practices at Glanbia. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position provides leadership and tactical support in a variety of areas that include employee relations, org design, talent management, recruiting, compensation, benefits, legal compliance, policy and procedure development and administration, and strategic planning that advance the mission, values and vision for the organization.

 

Job Duties - 

  • Lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners at the Aurora facilities.
  • Provide advice and counsel to managers and employees on employee relations matters; supporting management and with the disciplinary process and all terminations to eliminate potential liability and enhance processes.
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues; including the investigation of harassment, discrimination and other charges; manage discipline and discharge functions, and assume responsibility for the uniform and equitable application of policies across the business.
  • Ensure the people-perspective is represented in business decisions so implications are understood and the workforce is proactively managed; assessing the impact of business decisions on workforce and provides solutions to optimize opportunities and mitigate any downsides.
  • Drive all core HR processes and tools including labor requirements, training needs, and strategies to reduce employee turnover and improve the employee experience.
  • Working in conjunction with the HR Director, assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of effective business solutions to support the current and future human resources needs for the business.
  • Leads site PDP Communication and merit review process.
  • Facilitate development and monitoring of employee performance improvement plans. 
  • Administer various human resources programs including employee recognition programs (services awards, employee acknowledgement program, employee appreciation days, etc.).
  • Analyzes performance metrics (i.e turnover, conversions, engagement, safety etc.,) draws insights from data, develops action plans to improve and influences leadership to execute.
  • Collaborate with the temporary agencies, supervisors and talent acquisition team to ensure optimum staffing levels.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding personnel issues and insurance benefits.
  • Coordinate with corporate payroll on issue resolutions, exceptions and special circumstances.
  • Assist and/or direct employees for assistance with their benefits needs.
  • Maintain working knowledge of benefits, including: health and welfare, pension; holiday and PTO pay; and salary continuation plans.
  • Comply with COBRA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA and the Pregnancy leave acts.
  • Ensure local state & government compliance in areas such as wage and hour, EEO/AA and ICE.
  • Ensure consistent administration of company policies and procedures. 
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Organizational Development & Legal) and Global Business Services to deliver the people and organizational agenda.
  • Drive change through nurturing a diverse and inclusive environment. 
  • Leverage Glanbia’s values to drive accountability and engagement throughout operations, strengthen and develop our culture, and build engagement strategies across our operating locations.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field 
  • 10+ years of Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) communications skills preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of human resource principles and practices.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with frontline employees and leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to draw insights from data.
