Supplier & Contract Manufacturing Manager

Essential Functions:

• Ensure Food Safety requirements are adhered to in all tasks performed
• Knowledge of the requirements needed to satisfy Food Safety Management System. Preventive Controls: Environmental Pathogen Monitoring, Process (HACCP), Sanitation, Supply Chain, Allergens, Traceability, , Documentation, Training, etc...)
• Perform site visits and audits, monitors supplier for adherence to HACCP, Preventive Controls, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines, and GPN’s Supplier Expectation guidelines.
• Tracks progress and follows up on the suppliers/co-packers’ progress against corrective actions from the audits and communicate audit for management approval.
• Establish ongoing continuous improvement activities with suppliers which will deliver reductions in product complaints and vendor non-conformances (VNC).
• Manages projects that support new product commercialization, by:
  • Assessment of Contract Manufacturer’s (CM) capabilities.
  • Develops supplier metrics to monitor supplier quality control and process effectiveness.
  • Coordination of cross-functional activities ensuring successful completion of test batch trials, stability samples, sales samples, and first production for new product launches.
• Manage and coordinate special projects such as Identity Preserved certifications, as they are assigned.
• Conduct annual internal audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Knowledge of current GMPs, Preventive Controls (PCQI), HACCP, FSMA, and FDA regulations.

• Knowledge of SAP
• Knowledge or certification in ISO, NSF, or other certifying bodies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
• Knowledge of Quality Management System

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field of study (Food Science, Microbiology, etc.)
• Lead Auditor – ISO 22000 or equivalent training.
• At least 3-5 years of supplier audit experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
