Financial Accountant – Central A&R

This role will report to the Central Accounting and Reporting Manager. This role will focus on Balance Sheet control and planning. The successful candidate will work within a team to safeguard the accuracy and integrity of the financial information being reported.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidation of monthly financial reporting of Balance Sheet, P&L and funding via group platform.
  • Consolidation of plan P&L for Glanbia Ingredients and reporting via group consolidation platform.
  • Construction of plan Balance Sheet for Glanbia Ingredients and ensuring accurate funding levels are projected in line with planning assumptions.
  • Comparison of Glanbia Ingredients actual funding, working capital, capital spend and other key Balance Sheet sections against plan and providing a commercial explanation of variances and making recommendations where required.
  • Foreign exchange cash flow accounting and control – preparation of monthly dollar and sterling net income projections to ensure up-to-date hedging of currency income/expenditure and ensuring correct accounting treatment of foreign exchange transactions in our ledgers.
  • Support customer credit control process by ensuring the controls are adhered to and approving requests for blocked order release in a controlled environment.
  • Monitoring controls relating to the integrity of the Balance Sheet and assessing risk.
  • Setting standards in relation to accounting for and control monitoring of the business and rolling these out.
  • Work with Accounting & Reporting peers to drive process improvement, reporting capability development, finance automation and assigned projects / objectives.
  • Interfacing with GBS departments as required.
  • Liaising with both internal and external auditors as required.
  • Managing administration aspects of companies providing support to the business.
  • Management of overhead and capital grant claims as required.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks as they arise.

Key Requirements:

  • Performance & results driven approach
  • Degree qualified with professional accounting qualification – a minimum of 5 years PQE required
  • Experience of ERP systems, Data Warehousing platforms and report design would be an advantage
  • High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel would be an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent reporting & data presentation skills
