NPD Process Excellence Senior Manager

12 Month Contract

Job Overview:          

The NPD Process Excellence Senior Manager reports directly to the Head of Innovation & Sustainability Programme & Governance for Glanbia Ireland (GI). Role works to optimise and drive value from processes and deliver solutions on NPD Process Excellence that are key in supporting Innovation /Value Add and the growth of Glanbia Ireland. They will actively work with Project and NPD leaders supporting creation of plans to successfully complete work, setting and facilitating routines for execution, tracking progress and working cross-functionally to develop KPI’s supporting delivery of the programme.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review design NPD process, RACI and governance, identify and implement improvements that continue to build and improve on delivery and ease of execution.
  • Introduce portfolio review structure with appropriate visuals aligned with the needs of multiple stakeholders to embed effective measurement of NPD portfolio, drive adoption of programme/portfolio KPIs across key areas and support decision making.
  • Execute project on assessment and selection of project portfolio management software tool with automated workflow to support GI agility, speed of decision making and enhanced tracking of innovation, sustainability programme and project management.
  • Manage the overall coordination, implementation and control of specific projects ensuring consistency with the Glanbia Ireland growth strategy, commitments and goals
  • Facilitate the optimisation of project scope, goals, baselines, tasks and deliverables, and drive value from processes to support this.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of R&D projects, ensuring processes used are the best in class and drive value creation.
  • Govern the monitoring of projects underway in the pipeline, ensuring clarity on milestones, budgets and delivery in the planned timeframe and quality.
  • Provide direction and support to the project teams through creation and update of templates and checklists for different processes within R&D, namely the NPD process
  • Improve existing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards and reporting.
  • Facilitates meetings and workshops.
  • Oversees and reports on the progress of projects to all stakeholders.
     
     
     

Key Requirements:

 

  • 7+ years industry experience in the food / beverage / dairy area.
  • Strong process experience, ideally within the food/dairy industry
  • Significant evidence of R&D project management delivery
  • 3rd level qualification – Science/Business.
  • Understanding and knowledge of research, technology, innovation approaches and application of NPD and portfolio management methodologies.
  • Understanding of and experience in project and programme management.
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated with proven ability to build and maintain successful relationships and capability to influence peers across the organisation to work together and in line with a standard approach, helping to foster collaboration, constructive dialogue and trust.
  • Ability to handle all aspects of project & stakeholder management with experience in dealing with complex interfaces and interdependencies between various functions.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Post graduate level qualification
  • 3rd level Food based undergraduate qualification
  • Experience of IT project and workflow management systems
     

 

The successful candidate will be based in Ballyragget or Kilkenny and will be required to travel periodically.
