Overview
The Production Planner reports to the Production Planning Manager (Consumer and Ingredients) and plans, organizes and coordinates production schedules. This position is tasked with continually balancing and rebalancing resources (such as equipment, raw materials and staffing) in effectively deploying a production schedule that allows manufacturing to run as efficiently as possible while meeting customer expectations
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and coordinate production schedules, continually balance resources (such as equipment, raw materials and staffing)
- Define weekly / daily production plans based on the agreed monthly Integrated plan and operational constraints; make adjustments to accommodate near-term customer orders that differ from the agreed S&OP plan
- Create weekly production plans in SAP and track production variance(s) to plan
- Define inventory plans and ownership to ensure proper coverage, accurate planning and allocation of stock to specific customer orders
- Ensure packaging / ingredient stock availability to meet production requirements based on safety stock and safety time management practices, warehousing requirements, and working capital impact(s)
- Work closely with Purchasing personnel to consider external vendor inputs and outputs to determine options for component management
- Provide input and analysis into the monthly S&OP process to ensure alignment between Integrated monthly plan and production plans
- Liaise with Third Party manufacturers and plan production, as required
- Measure, analyse and report key process metrics, and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyse data to drive insights to inform decision making across key stakeholder groups.

Experience

- APICS / IIPMM qualified advantageous
