Production Planner - 12 month contract

The Production Planner reports to the Production Planning Manager (Consumer & Ingredients) and plans, organises and coordinates production schedules. This position is tasked with accurately scheduling sufficient production to supply customer demand without incurring waste or impeding commercial or operational objectives. The role necessitates continually balancing and rebalancing resources (such as equipment, raw materials and labour) in a manner that enables manufacturing, transport, warehousing and raw materials replenishment to operate as efficiently as possible.


Location - Ballyragget Co Kilkenny or Citywest, Dublin





  • Construct weekly production plans relative to the agreed demand plan and operational constraints and ccommunicate transport requirements and raw materials implications
  • Develop daily production plans at SKU-level and make adjustments to account for variances in demand, stock, machine performance, yield and availability of materials/labour/transport. Balance competing demands from Operations teams and make adjustments to optimise utilisation of resources.
  • Work closely with Raw Materials Planner to ensure packaging / ingredient stock availability to meet production requirements
  • Work closely with Operations teams (Production, Depots and Transport) to optimise production and logistics metrics and to support effective running of the transport and depot network
  • Measure, analyse and report key process metrics, and monitor adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs). Analyse data to drive insights to inform decision making across key stakeholder groups.
  • Provide input and analysis into the forecast to ensure alignment between forecast, plant and depot capacity and production plan
  • Participate in cross functional projects across the business


Key Requirements & Experience In


  • Working collaboratively across multiple functions, excellent communication
  • Judgement skills and ability to leverage information
  • Supply & Production planning experience
  • Understanding production capabilities and capacities in relation to customer and manufacturing specifications
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills,
  • End to end planning processes
  • Experience in the use of SAP planning tools is desirable.
  • Lean or 3M experience
  • APICS / IIPMM qualified advantageous
