A requirement for a Project Engineer position has been identified in Glanbia Ireland to assist with the management of process & utility projects, working closely with a cross functional team of Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain and Quality departments to implement the required changes to enhance, stabilize and improve processes, with projects both executed in-house and by external contractors. This role will report directly to the Senior Projects Engineer.

 

Key Responsibilities;

  • Develop scope and system performance targets for tendering to external contractors.
  • Review tender submissions and design proposals from external contractors.
  • Monitor project expenses in line with the approved project budget.
  • Design small scale process changes and implement same.
  • Provide expert technical support to the site production, maintenance and utility teams.
  • Ensure smooth transfer of project knowledge from engineering to production, including ramp up plans for new process, transfers or product introductions.
  • Assist the process automation team in developing FDS user requirements.
  • Ensure all activities, equipment and facilities comply with GMP, Health, Safety and Environmental policies.

 

 

Key Requirements:

  • 3rd level qualification in Chemical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience in project management within a large scale manufacturing environment, preferably in the Dairy, Food, Beverage or Healthcare industries.
  • Successful track record of project delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
