Regional Sales Ingredients Manager – North Africa

It processes a 2.6 billion litre milk pool from 21 counties and exports high quality dairy and agri ingredients as well as branded products to over 60 countries.

 

With annual revenue of €1.8 billion, Glanbia Ireland has 11 processing plants, 53 agri branches and over 1,800 employees. 

 

Reporting to the General Manager for MEA Markets the role is responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy to further develop the North Africa Ingredient business through the B2B channel. This will be through direct customer sales and appointed channel partners. The person will manage relationships with existing customers and develop future customer relationships with a view to expanding sales. They will work to achieve/exceed budget targets in terms of volumes and profitability and deliver on growth targets. In line with future growth they will recruit, develop and motivate a team of sales personnel, supporting them in their career development and setting clearly defined sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for ingredient sales in the North African region
  • Manage the existing business through negotiation of contracts, developing new sales opportunities through products/channels and strengthening the relationships with customers
  • Contribute towards the collation of market intelligence in the competitive landscape by working with the Market Research & Insights team and analysing market pricing information on a weekly basis
  • Manage the business development pipeline of opportunities and look for ways to add value
  • Build and develop new and existing customer relationships, negotiate contracts and manage day-to-day “operational” issues, and assume ultimate responsibility for overall strategic customer relationships and building of a solid relationship with key decision-makers
  • Work with other internal functions with the aim of providing best-in-class service to customers
  • Lead and support the sales team in the management of existing business and delivery of annual budgets, including sales management, product mix decisions, and price setting for the products

                             

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experienced in sales in B2B channel with evidence that they are results driven, self-motivated and resourceful. Previous experience amd knowledge of North Africa region desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop and strengthen teams in order to maximise profitability and deliver against category sales targets
  • Results driven, customer focused with high performance capability in a fast moving challenging business environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills and the ability to nurture and develop employees
  • Track record in decision-making and ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to modify style to engage effectively with different people
  • French language skills are desirable.
