Senior S&OP Planner/Econometrician

Glanbia Ireland are currently implementing a Supply Chain Planning platform (OMP) to service the needs of the organisation.  The Senior S&OP Planner will be a key role in ensuring the success of this initiative, both during the implementation project and following transition to steady state. The key requirements of this new role are to use the capabilities of the new platform to create scenario – based plans, and to work collaboratively to align senior business stakeholders to a consensus based plan version, which is both optimised for profitability and is deliverable.

 

This role is based on a hybrid working model located in Kilkenny.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Initially working on the implementation project alongside the Systems Integrators of the selected platform, to aid in a successful systems solution to the business needs, and also to learn the details of the configuration and capabilities of the platform, developing in to one of the systems SME community.
  • Manipulating data inputs to create multiple, scenario based plans, taking in to account capacity, costs, inventory, efficiencies and other drivers.
  • Being the owner of the plan, negotiating and forging agreements between the many interested parties (Commercial, Finance, Operations, Customer Service), to reach consensus on an optimised plan.
  • Defining and putting in place a measurement framework to support the tracking of core KPIs around plan optimisation.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain Planning Platform Owner to understand the Master data model which will support the creation of planning scenarios, and developing proposals for improvement in that model to better support plan optimisation.
  • Collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and drive resolution.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive business benefits from the platform.
  • Assessment of future functional enhancements to the platform.
  • Work closely with Supply and Production planning to ensure alignment of the plan and sign off that it is executable
  • Creation and maximisation of the strategic 3-5 year plan working closely with Commercial, Production and Supply functions

 

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related field
  • Highly data – literate; able to manage, manipulate and interrogate large data sets to achieve business insights and drive recommendations for improvement.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the implementation and configuration of supply chain planning platforms in the context of a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working on implementation projects and of working with third party systems integrators and business stakeholders.
  • Strong Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain planning, demand forecasting through supply replenishment.
  • Experience as a practitioner in the demand, supply planning space, and expertise in the concepts of S&OP as applied to systems solutions.
  • Understanding of supply planning concepts – consumption, safety stock, production rates/constraints etc... (APICS certification preferred).
  • Understanding of the design and implementation of KPI frameworks to support the measurement of business performance
  • Demonstrable complex problem solving skills, systemic thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ideally experience in working with the OMP platform
  • Knowledge of the Glanbia product portfolio, business and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to understand master data and SAP requirements in order for OMP to work effectively
