The Senior Manager Stock Clearance sits in the Ingredients category and reports into the Head of the selling function. The role is accountable for managing and executing sales and stocks clearance efficiently through a number of channels to support Glanbia’s milk growth strategy and working capital requirements.  The main channels include a sales team and a B2B digital sales platform and operate with a defined set of end use customers and key trading customers for the range of products.

The successful candidate will drive the delivery of sales targets and support the wider commercial team. They will bring the voice of the customer to the table, and develop initiatives to ensure excellent customer experience delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities;

  • To lead, manage and develop the dedicated team.
  • To agree with the category managers and Head of function, the stock clearance strategies that allows GI to manage strategic demand with its core customers and still make its monthly working capital targets. The role is responsible for execution of these strategies.
  • Support risk management strategy execution by working closely with the Finance, Risk Managers and Milk Pricing Schemes owners to develop solutions for the relevant customer/trader portfolio.
  • Continue to support the running and development of the Glanbia Direct digital sales platform. Embrace new and emerging technologies, tools and platforms to optimise the process of clearing stock, market price discovery, to add value to the portfolio and to reduce costs where clear opportunities exist to do so.
  • Develop strong relationships with key traders and brokers that can add value to the GI stocks clearance and tactical sales process.
  • Manage the sales book for the animal nutrition & feed customers in the portfolio continually seek value-adding outlets for the relevant GI products. Manage effectively the commercial face of the NCD (Non-customer driven stocks) process (MRB & Excess stocks) as required by the business.
  • Contribute towards the collation of market intelligence and the competitive landscape and market pricing information on a weekly basis.
  • Adhere and participate in the evolving business S&OP as required per the Senior (sales) manager responsibility. Forecast accuracy and execution will be key.
  • Project management/participation in GI projects and strategic project programmes as defined by the business

 

Experience in

  • Dairy and or other food commodity ingredients and trading environments
  • General Management – sound experience in the running of businesses and highly effective teams

  • Excellent relationships development and management skills.

  • Strong numerical and arbitrage skills.
  • Strong Negotiating skills
  • Customer and market knowledge – with an understanding of how to trade competitively.
