Accounting & Reporting Manager – Supply Chain & Operations

The Accounting and Reporting Manager – Supply Chain & Operations will report to the Financial Controller – Glanbia Ireland. This role will focus on operational cost accounting & control.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a finance team with responsibility for the accounting, reporting & control activity in relation to operating costs – to include manufacturing, supply chain and support function overheads.
  • Plan, monitor, and control the month-end close process for all operating & support cost areas – to include raw materials and finished product.
  • Oversee the delivery of accurate & timely monthly management accounts for assigned cost areas above, ensuring completeness of GL entries and posting of accruals / prepayments to reflect outstanding items, in compliance with company accounting policy.  
  • Produce cost reporting requirements to facilitate month-end validation & close-off.
  • Liaise with Finance Business Partners to both fulfil business-specific reporting needs and to that ensure key variances versus plan are reviewed, rationalised and fully understood.
  • Ensure strict governance with regard to GL entries. Oversee the monitoring and elimination of GL postings to incorrect codes / cost centres, in addition to minimising manual journals as part of the GL compliance framework.    
  • Oversee purchasing compliance and work to ensure optimum controls / invoice processing effectiveness.
  • Work with Accounting & Reporting peers to drive process improvement, finance automation and assigned projects / objectives.
  • Drive the development of Business Intelligence & SAP reporting capability in partnership with Accounting & Reporting peers, ensure effective & professional presentation of financial data.
  • Mentor, coach and develop team members – ensuring delivery of role competencies and Finance objectives.
  • Lead the external audit activity. Review periodic internal control reports and remediate control gaps. Ensure best in class compliance & controls for assigned areas of responsibility.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree qualified with professional accounting qualification – 7+ years PQE required
  • Leader / collaborator with the ability to deliver requirements in partnership with peers & stakeholders
  • Track record of achievement in a large finance organisation
  • Excellent reporting & data presentation skills, enabling professional reflection of financial reporting among Glanbia Ireland stakeholders & board of directors
  • Experience in the management & execution of Finance process efficiency & automation projects would be an advantage
  • Experience of ERP systems, Data Warehousing platforms and report design
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
