We currently have an opening for a Transport Coordinator, based in Ballyragget, Co Kilkenny. The role will Co-ordinate between the transport planning team and our haulier network, ensuring the efficient and effective movement of product across our business.

Part of your role will be to liaise with our haulier to ensure the transport schedules are met and site rules and regulations are maintained. You will ensure best in class transport services are provided, whilst protecting the commercial and legal best interests of Glanbia Ireland.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure full compliance for all Drivers / Hauliers entering any site within GI.
  • Be the point of contact for all Hauliers, liaising daily to ensure they provide the service required
  • To manage the on-boarding and setting up of any new hauliers.
  • Provide driver training program on a standard basis and when required to meet site requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate outside training or accreditation as required. 
  • Update all systems in a timely manner to ensure the smooth running of the business.
  • Analyzing reports, this would include routing reports, mileage usage, tachographs where relevant, truck maintenance reports, and other service reports and action any discrepancies arising from these reports.
  • Review the outputs of the telematics software to manage driver behavior and impact EH&S.
  • Deal with plants, suppliers and customers ensuring quality of service and managing any complaints or service issues/requests that might arise.
  • Manage the cost associated with the transport activities associated with the transport used.
  • Be an effective agent in the 3M process, striving to implement and learn GPS (Lean) tools where appropriate to enhance the services and processes.
  • Input to and attend haulier annual contract reviews in relation to performance in conjunction with your manager.
  • Responsibility for fuel purchases and government body returns for Ballyragget, inclusive of local facility. Responsibility for the diesel difference.

 

 

Experience  

  • Relevant, proven experience in Transport Management.
  • Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Results driven, performance capability in a fast moving business environment
  • CPC qualification desirable.
