Process Engineer - Ballitore

The Process Engineer for Ballitore reports to the Factory Manager and is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes and site utilities, including support of design, development and implementation of production processes within the parameters of GPS framework, process change & process improvement/optimization and utility conservation at site level. Candidates must have a proven track record regarding the following skills and attributes:

 

  • Provide leadership in optimisation of production processes and equipment on an on-going basis
  • Proactively contribute to on-going efforts to improve plant efficiencies and reduce process variation
  • Support the business in producing quality product first time through clear definition of customer needs
  • Support Plant Personnel in the implementation of improvement projects, facilitating and monitoring improvement initiatives through the use of GPS tools and techniques
  • Provide technical support to operations in relation to equipment configurations and process parameters
  • Provide manufacturing information by analysing production performance data and providing insight into performance issues and opportunities. 
  • Assess issues that arise during normal operations and collaborate with the operations team, to identify improvement opportunities and the root cause of process problems
  • Strive to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through a detailed knowledge of the process and a continuous goal of eliminating waste
  • Contribute to the development of site culture and act as role model for Plant values and behaviours. 
  • Support the implementation of site cleanliness and hygiene standards.

 

Ideally candidates should have the following Qualifications & Experience:

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement or product development, project management
  • Manufacturing, preferably in a range of processes and equipment within the dairy ingredients industry
  • Knowledge of Fluid Mechanics
  • Operating within, and delivering on, the highest quality standards in the dairy manufacturing sector
  • Results driven, customer focused with high performance capability in a fast moving challenging business environment
  • Leadership and communication skills, ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
