Maintenance Planner – Belview, Kilkenny (Via Waterford)

Role Summary:

Based in our Dairy Processing facility in Belview, South Kilkenny the Maintenance Planner will report to the Engineering and Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Planner will develop and maintain a criticality based maintenance system. The Planner is responsible for developing work plans that ensure safe, compliant, and efficient maintenance in line with the GMP standards of the food and nutrition industry.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System - SAP) for Belview’s Engineering & Maintenance function
  • Develop and maintain a site maintenance planning system that supports overall plant production requirements
  • Ongoing development of Belview’s criticality based maintenance model.  Maximise the use of MES, SAP PM and other tools.
  • Act as a liaison between production, planning, stores & engineering to ensure scheduled maintenance downtime is used effectively. Develop strong relationships between all departments and coordinate planned maintenance tasks during normal production periods and specific outages.
  • Working closely with the production process lead, the maintenance planner will be responsible for integrating the maintenance plan into the overall production plan.
  • Monitor the implementation of maintenance plans by the maintenance teams and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Assess effectiveness of plan, make recommendations for corrective action and implement through the optimisation of the maintenance planning process
  • Incorporate maintenance and repair plans into overall production plan and take corrective action as required for unscheduled repairs.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process for the plant and develop the maintenance plan in line with overall budget for site
  • Develop, implement and report on Maintenance KPIs on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Responsible for the development & training of specific maintenance policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the management of short term contractors coming to site for planned maintenance functions including training in core Plant policies relating to GMP and H&S
  • Contribute to Plant CI (Continuous Improvement) initiatives from an Engineering and Maintenance perspective
  • As the key user for SAP PM in Belview, take a leadership role in the development and deployment of SAP PM functionality across all site functions sharing best practices and approaches outside core maintenance function
  • Play a lead role in the preparation for and support of customer site audits and work to ensure the plant in a state of constant audit readiness.
  • Contribute to the development of site culture and act as role model for Plant values and behaviours. 

 

Other:

  • Production/Maintenance experience in a medium/large scale GMP Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in working with established Computerised Maintenance Management Systems an advantage, preferably SAP.
  • Proven track record in the implementation of improvement processes.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Results driven with ability to multi-task in a fast paced challenging business environment
