Maintenance Technician (Mechanical) - Belview

Role Summary

Based in Belview the Maintenance Technician will have responsibility for the delivery of the GI Belview maintenance strategy. The multi-skilled Technician, mechanically qualified, will provide maintenance support and expertise to the production team. This will be achieved within a flexible work system, 24 x 7 operation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply sound technical solutions to resolve problems relating to plant efficiencies and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support and maintain preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance programmes
  • Deliver planned maintenance schedules in line with Production related requirements
  • Support Production team in maximising Plant Readiness and effectiveness
  • Perform follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring downtime / inefficient operational issues
  • Manage work and environment such that good manufacturing practices (GMP) are adhered to and pristine plant standards are maintained.
  • Plant handover/hand-back procedures must be followed & all work carried out must be completed, such that it presents zero risk to product quality and personal safety
  • Ensure all plant maintenance operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment
  • Issuing of permits to work, adherence to site safety procedures and identification of on-going safety improvements
  • Training team members in maintenance procedures and techniques as required.
  • Use of computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to input data and monitor & evaluate plant performance.

 

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a maintenance technician position in a highly automated processing environment
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting, fault finding & root cause analysis on plant/process issues.
  • Highly skilled in instrumentation and control.
  • Good working knowledge of GMP best practices.
  • Experience operating within, and delivering on, the highest quality standards in the manufacturing sector.
  • Ability to drive on-going Preventative Maintenance Programs.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team.
  • Ability to interact with Engineering IT process’s such as MES & SAP PM.
