Operational Excellence (Lean) Specialist.

Operational Excellence and continuous improvement is at the heart of Glanbia Ireland’s success. This role will embed continuous improvement and enable growth. You will play a key role in a dynamic team, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across our operations at Belview, Co Kilkenny.

 

To support the ambitious business excellence program for Glanbia Ireland, an Operational Excellence (Lean) Specialist is required to join the team. Primarily supporting our processing facility in Belview Kilkenny. This role will report to the Glanbia Performance System (GPS), Manager for Glanbia Ireland.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing leadership in the area of operational excellence and continuously improving the LEAN maturity of the sites (Belview) you will support
  • Contributing to the development of strategy focused on embedding a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the Glanbia Ireland business
  • Ensuring that the site daily management system (3M), KPI reviews and continuous improvement forums are embedded at all levels of the site
  • Lead the RCA process and ensure its effectiveness in the elimination of waste in the site processes
  • Coaching and mentoring of employees at all levels in the use of LEAN systems & tools
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships across the business to ensure appropriate alignment with business process improvement projects
  • Proactively working with people in all areas of the business to seek out opportunities for the elimination of waste and non-value added activity
  • Recognising the importance of budget targets, constantly strive to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through a detailed knowledge of the process and a continuous goal of eliminating waste
  • Managing the implementation of the GPS training plan from the coordination of the formal training activities through to evaluation of training effectiveness
  • Communicating and engaging with people at all levels within the business in order to promote awareness and engagement in the GPS development activities

 

Key Requirements:

  • Third level qualification or significant relevant hands on experience of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement or product development, project management
  • Experience in Change Management and/or Project Management a distinct advantage
  • Lean six sigma green belt or black belt certified a distinct advantage
  • Self-confident with the ability to promote a new way of thinking
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Excellent influencing skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
