Production Manager

 

Role Summary

Based in Belview in South Kilkenny the role reports to the Site Manager.  The role has responsibility for the efficient planning, implementation and control of the manufacturing schedule and processes delivering Infant Formula grad products to the highest quality standard.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and direct optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
  • Be responsible for production output and finished product quality
  • Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to the production team
  • Work with the HR Business partner to recruit, manage and develop plant staff
  • Take leadership role in the operational management of the Plant playing a key role in the delivery of the core Plant KPIs
  • Actively lead and promote a culture of Safety, Compliance, Excellence and Continuous Improvement within the Operations teams
  • Input to Belview’s Change Control management system in line with the requirements of the production environment
  • Continuously improve operating performance through development and implementation of strategies for capacity enhancement, customer fulfilment & efficiency
  • Manage team and individual performance and support Team Leads in the performance review process for Production Specialists
  • Deliver on team cross-skilling and competence development plans through the Team Leads
  • Execute the Plant Risk Management Strategy through the team to minimise risk to the business
     
    Qualifications
    A third level qualification in Food Science, Engineering or equivalent required
     
    Experience
    Minimum of 5 years Management experience in the Food, Pharmaceutical or Beverage manufacturing sector with experience in manufacture of products used in sensitive or specialist customer applications an advantage
