The role of the Key Account Manager is to execute the commercial plan within Independent Convenience stores, Driving Forecourts and Cash & Carry Depots maximising sales and visibility of GPN brands.  You will also be responsible for working with all internal and external stakeholders to bring our sales and marketing plans to life across the Off-Premise Universe. This is a compelling opportunity for a national account executive or business development executive to grow their career in an exciting category, with significant scope for future growth. This is a home based role.

The opportunity where you will make an impact:

  • Account responsibility for Regional Wholesalers and Independent Impulse Retail customers within your territory
  • Manage Mini Multiple Operating (MMO) groups and stores within your region, dealing with the key decision makers to achieve sales drivers in store.  
  • Building sales strategy alongside National Account Manager to increase sales and raise awareness across territory
  • Drive sales fundamentals
  • Identify and unlock new distribution opportunities
  • Maximise Brand presence in trade
  • Provide on-going feedback to Central Team to help evolve strategy
  • Support key customers in the re-merchandising of planograms where required
  • Establish effective joint working relationships with key stakeholders (both internally and externally) which will include regular reviews of performance and reporting.
  • Sell in NPD and deliver against targeted distribution levels

 

Key Challenges and Success Measures:

  • Achievement of Sales, Distribution, and display targets against agreed KPI’s
  • Leverage joint business plans and trading terms with your Groups to achieve instore objectives. 
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Agree in store range and availability of Glanbia product. 
  • Ensure all depots, stores and retailers in your region are visited as frequently as required. This may vary per customer, and you have the freedom to manage your time as you see fit
  • Drive in store presence through visibility and awareness of the product through merchandising our product on shelf, in fridges and around the store. 
  • Implement relevant Point of Sale (POS) reflecting relevant brand campaigns such as New Product Launches.
  • Agree ambient placements in store through either store owned or Glanbia displays.

 

What you will bring to GPN:

  • Proven track record in achieving targets
  • Ability to overcome objections and close a sale there and then
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong time management and personal organisation skills
  • The ability to build relationships quickly and effectively
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Interest in and knowledge of sports and performance nutrition
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Intermediate skills across Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Attention to detail
  • Comfortable working autonomously and being out on the road
  • FMCG experience is an advantage but not essential 
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a desire to progress and build a career within the sports and performance nutrition category
  • The ability to sell, negotiate and close
  • Work with multiple brands
  • Have multiple priorities without dropping any
  • Thrive in an environment of change and ambiguity
  • Willing to travel
