Role Profile

Business Excellence and continuous improvement are at the heart of Tirlán’s success. Our Business Excellence system based on LEAN methodology and principles incorporates industry best practice to achieve sustainable high performance.

This role will report to the Tirlán Business Excellence Manager, you will work as part of a highly motivated and experienced Business Excellence team as well as site-based stakeholders to bring continuous improvement to life each day. This is a role for somebody who is self-driven, with a passion for Lean, Continuous Improvement, and Business Excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support in the area of operational excellence and continuously improving the LEAN maturity of the site you will support
  • Contributing to the development of strategy focused on embedding a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across the Tirlán business
  • Ensuring that the site daily management system (3M), KPI reviews and continuous improvement forums are embedded at all levels of the site
  • Lead the RCA process and ensure its effectiveness in the elimination of waste in the site processes
  • Coaching and mentoring of employees at all levels in the use of LEAN systems & tools
  • Facilitating the development, implementation & governance of business process improvement projects
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships across the business to ensure appropriate alignment with business process improvement projects
  • Proactively working with people in all areas of the business to seek out opportunities for the elimination of waste and non-value added activity
  • Recognising the importance of budget targets, constantly strive to reduce costs and improve efficiencies through a detailed knowledge of the process and a continuous goal of eliminating waste
  • Communicating and engaging with people at all levels within the business in order to promote awareness and engagement
  • Ensuring that the Business Excellence approach remains fully integrated into the business strategy
  • Facilitating structured problem solving as well as training & mentoring site leadership team to embed root cause analysis in all areas   

 

Key Requirements:

  • Third level qualification or relevant experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Process Improvement or product development, project management
  • In depth understanding of lean systems with hands on experience utilizing lean tools in an effective manner
  • Knowledge of the Shingo model of operational excellence an advantage
  • Experience in Change Management and/or Project Management an advantage
  • Lean six sigma green belt or black belt certified a distinct advantage
  • Proven track record of delivery of projects within tight time frames
  • Experience working with cross functional teams
  • Experience in dealing with cultural change at all levels
  • Previous experience of training/facilitating groups is a distinct advantage
  • Self-confident with the ability to promote a new way of thinking
  • Highly motivated and self-driven
  • Excellent influencing skills
