Role Profile
We have an exciting opportunity for a Caseins Process Manager, based in Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny, reporting to the Manufacturing Manager. Plant 1 is a pivotal part of the entire Ballyragget site as it produces over 20,000 tons of Casein powders each year, producing Rennet Casein, Acid Casein and Milk Protein Concentrate (MPC) powders from skim milk. The successful candidate will be responsible for the Caseins production of Plant 1 and will manage the Plant 1 Shift Managers. 

 

Responsibilities
•    Main point of contact for the Casein Production Plants and Manager of Plant 1 Shift Managers. 
•    Promote & implement Best Practice Health & Safety policies and procedures
•    Adherence to product food safety and legality standards, ensure 100% quality product
•    Identify and implement process improvements that can deliver maximum benefits to the business using lean manufacturing principles, in line with our BE (Business Excellence) system and COVI (Cost Out Value In) approach
•    Provide technical help in problem solving day to day issues with the other Plant 1 Process Managers and Process Technology Team.
•    For the Casein plants, manage and schedule plant activities to obtain maximum throughput & efficiency in accordance with overall Production plan for Tirlán, working closely with the planning function on all products
•    Manage area in line with GMP and assume responsibility for internal hygiene audits and external customer/third party audits when required in an area
•    Prepare PIRs (Project Initiation Requests) for capex projects as required
•    Actively identify and participate in activities/projects focusing on innovation and improvement in production methods/processes
•    Comply with all HR policies and procedures in dealing with staff issues
•    Develop and coach Plant 1 Shift Managers, plant operators and cleaners as part of the Plant 1 Management team as well as managing holidays and absence.
•    Management reporting and meetings
•    Manage projects as required
•    Act as an effective communicator and implementer of change within the plant

 

Requirements
•    Third Level Degree in Food Science, Engineering or Processing Discipline.
•    Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a Food Manufacturing or Pharma based organisation.
•    Experience in Decanters, Clarifiers, Driers, Powder Milling & Sieving or Spray Drying would be preferred.
•    Ability to work to tight deadlines with excellent planning/scheduling skills
