JOB SUMMARY

 

The Benefits Manager will be tasked with assisting with the  progression of the  the strategic direction of the Glanbia USA benefits offering, while leading the successful administration of various plans (H&W, Qualified/Non-Qualified retirement, Wellness, Leave of Absence).  This role will be based in our Chicago, Illinois headquarters office and will occasionally visit local sites on an as needed basis.   This role will work in close partnership with multiple divisions under the larger Glanbia PLC, and the ability to collaborate will be critical to the success of this role.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Director of Total Reward, evaluates and compares existing company benefits.
  • Ability to develop and recommend benefit programs, policies and procedures for review and implementation.
  • Assists in managing the benefit offering mix, in partnership with our benefits broker, to deliver benefit programs that attract and retain employees, while adhering to approved budget.
  • Participate in annual renewal planning sessions; providing recommendations and set the strategic direction of future offerings to remain competitive yet contain costs.
  • Maintains day to day accountability of vendor management, ensuring Service Level Agreements and key performance metrics are meeting the needs of Glanbia and our employees.
  • Working with various external vendors in the continuous administration and resolution of benefit programs.
  • Empowering the broader HR team to effectively communicate our benefits offering and deepen the knowledge and understanding of Glanbia’s benefits programs
  • Assist in the Open Enrollment communication strategy and execution, to include the oversight of on-site and webinar based information sessions.
  • Manage the coordination of leave of absence processing (through benefits team and site HR), with a view towards HR and Manager transparency and continuous process improvement in order to align the business accordingly
  • Oversee wellness offerings and reimbursements and health screening programs
  • Drive efficiencies in benefits administration, leveraging vendors and various IT platforms to streamline legacy processes.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; obtaining qualified opinions; enforcing adherence to requirements.
  • Leverage metrics and analysis to identify opportunities for efficiencies or program enhancements.
  • Lead various benefit plan audits for accuracy in HRIS and Payroll systems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training:      

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Professional Certification in HR (CEBS, PHR/SPHR) preferred

 

Experience Required:   

  • 5+ years of benefits related experience required, prior leadership experience preferred
  • Proven success working with remote teams
  • Experience working with various HRIS platforms required, with strong preference given to SAP and SuccessFactors.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional travel required
  • Work required in Downtown Chicago and Downers Grove locations
  • Travel to company locations on an as needed basis
