Legal Consultant (Contractor)

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Legal Consultant within Glanbia.  This is a part-time contractor opportunity based in our corporate office in Citywest Business Park, Dublin and will report to the Senior Legal Counsel.

 

Overview

The successful candidate will be part of an in-house team (currently consisting of 4 solicitors between head office and its corporate office) that provides advice and support on a wide range of legal and commercial issues in a fast paced dynamic business.

 

Key Elements of the Role

  • Updating and maintaining all precedent contracts used by the legal team across a broad range of legal areas.
  • Review / negotiate day to day legal agreements (including end user terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements, trade mark licence agreements, data processing agreements, sponsorship agreements).
  • Management of Glanbia’s Intellectual Property portfolio.
  • Engage and manage the use of external lawyers particularly in relation to Leases and Conveyancing matters for Glanbia.
  • Prepare and respond to data subject access requests, and general data protection queries including review of data protection impact assessments.
  • Various administrative duties/support including reviewing/managing invoices received, assisting with co-ordination and execution of documents generally, assisting in preparing documents for meetings and managing the case management system for the legal team.

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Be a legal executive or a qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in a corporate legal environment.
  • Have strong drafting, negotiating and communication skills.
  • Have solid experience in commercial law gained in a dynamic environment.
  • Have excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing an Intellectual Property portfolio is also desirable.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and be motivated to deliver the legal department’s value added agenda.
  • Be able to multi-task and use a systematic and analytical approach to identifying issues and problem solving with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.  Be able to define problems / issues at the outset in an objective manner.
  • Previous experience in a multinational corporation would be an advantage.
