Job Summary

Maintain day-to-day supplier relationships and site inventory. Support savings and other supply related improvement projects. Manage the inventory and ordering process to ensure the plant always has enough product to produce to schedule. 


Essential Functions

  • Obtain price quotations for spot buys per Category strategy
  • Obtain cost savings or avoidances with improvements
  • Manage nonconformance's and returns
  • Provide site SAP training to procurement users
  • Support implementation of Category and COE projects
  • Maintain new vendor and SAP Material codes set up process
  • Submit new products for evaluation as needed
  • Take inventory levels of all assigned materials at the assigned frequency and post reconciliations in SAP
  • Submit requisitions as required to maintain adequate inventory levels
  • Adjust inventory targets to ensure security of supply and minimize cost of inventory
  • Complete goods receipt in a timely fashion
  • Maintain supply documentation as needed
  • Maintain liv log monitoring to make sure pending invoices are corrected and cleared from the log in a timely manner
  • Maintain an open order report
  • Coordinate logistics and ensure accurate invoicing of delivered product from carriers as applicable
  • Ensure delivery paperwork is in compliance
  • Ensure SRCs are completed for all near-miss/actual stock outs
  • Foster the Glanbia culture
  • Keep records in accordance with GMP s state and local laws
  • Utilize GPS process driving zero losses and uphold the culture of SWC non negotiable 
  • Monitor and document vendor performance on a continuous basis.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or a minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiply projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages 9word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.)
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, and work with the fingers.
  • Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature.
  • Should be able to ability to identify and distinguish colors, clear vision at 20 inches or less, have peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


Typical Environmental Conditions

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment and light traffic).
  • May have exposure to a risk electrical shock.

Travel Requirements

    • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
