Case Packer

Job Summary

The Case Packer is responsible for packaging finished product to ensure customer specifications and quality standards are met for final shipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

  • Operates and troubleshoots Case Erector, Drop Packer, Top Sealer and Case Packer Machines
  • Perform Pallet Jack inspections and report any issues to Management
  • Obtains empty pallets and empty boxes and move to line with hand jack
  • Examines and inspects boxes, materials and products in order to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
  • Operates tape machine using proper tape and codes dates to be applied to box
  • Inspects overall condition of box
  • Stacks boxes onto pallet according to proper specifications
  • Replenishes packaging supplies such as boxes, sleeves, or labels
  • Cleans work area and Maintains an organized area for product – sanitary and safety
  • Stages pallets and slip sheets for the days production
  • Correctly labels pallets on appropriate sides
  • Keeps accurate records
  • Provides Relief to other Operators as needed
  • Assists Sleever Operator as needed
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:

 

  • High School Diploma or Genderal Education Degree (GED)

 

Experience Required:

  • 1-3 years of experience in food/beverage manufacturing environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of manufacutirng operations is an advantage.
  • Must have demonstrably strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and verify employees can follow standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to take good notes, address issues with management and take care of concerns or requests brought up by employees.
  • Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form as well as allergen products.
  • Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency in resovling issues.
  • Good follow-up skills.
  • Support the supervisor and manager with all goals and objectives set by the company.
  • Must be self-starter and highly motivated.
  • Ability to work in a safe and sanitary manner.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Language, Computer &   Numeracy:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written
