Inbound Quality Assurance Inspector I

Position Overview:

An Inbound QA Inspector must be thorough, neat and orderly and keep their work area in a manner that supports inspection and testing.  They must follow all regulatory, company and safety requirements.   They must be able to consistently perform their job with little or no supervisory oversight.  They must have a good attitude and be upbeat. They must be cheerful to employees, management and customers.  They must have an attitude of always wanting to learn more and to help the Aseptic Solution’s team.  They must be willing to work extra hours and weekends when requested.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Daily sanitary cleaning of the work area
  • Creation of raw material ID tags
  • Raw material sampling and labeling
  • Inspection of all packaging materials
  • Maintain log of raw material retains
  • Prepare shipments for external lab testing
  • Collect and ship customer samples
  • Create Certificate of Inspection

 

  • Release raw materials from quarantine
  • Communicate food safety/quality concerns to immediate supervisor or management.    
  • Scan daily production paper work into network drives
  • Must be willing to be trained as a back-up for Inbound Quality Inspector II and lab technician

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food manufacturing environment or equivalent type of manufacturing/warehouse

 

Language Skills

  • English required
  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally
  • Ability to read, analyze company procedures and governmental regulations

 

Mathematical/Computer Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply math skills with complete accuracy

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral or schedule form
