JOB SUMMARY

 

Support the aromatic creation team (flavour preparation, organoleptic evaluation (raw material and/or flavour), testing, document management, research and modification of computer data, etc.);

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsibilities:

 •             Support the aromatic creation team (flavour preparation, organoleptic evaluation (raw material and/or flavour), testing, document management, research and modification of computer data, etc.);

•             Carry out the measurement of the analytical data of the flavours;

•             Manage the raw materials required in the laboratory for the production of flavours;

•             Manage consumables, glassware and laboratory equipment;

•             Support the quality control and legislation team;

•             Respect the company's policies/instructions related to the quality system in place (HACCP / SQF).

•             Performs all other related tasks;

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training:

 

•             High School Diploma and 2+ years of experience

•             Relevant experience in the food or chemical industry is an asset;

•             Knowledge of good manufacturing practices in the food industry;

•             Good knowledge of English (spoken/written);

•             Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards;

•             Computer skills.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers.
  • Regularly involves going up and down stairs.
  • Frequently involves reaching with hands and arms, standing and walking.
  • Occasionally involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.

 

Typical Environmental Conditions

 

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment, light traffic).
  • May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e. production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic).
  • May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals.
  • May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
