Maintenance Mechanic

Position Overview:

Maintain and repair machinery and equipment ( e.g.- conveyors system, motors, pumps, production machinery). Employee has the responsibility to report food safety hazards or concerns to their immediate supervisor.  



Job Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Repair and maintain plant equipment
  • Repair and maintain power support systems
  • Repair and maintain hydraulic systems and equipments
  • Maintain lubrication of all equipment machinery
  • Troubleshoot and perform electrical repairs and wiring
  • Understand and follows manufacture’s specifications for equipment operations and repairs
  • Competency with hand tools, power tools, welding and machine shop equipment
  • Examine finished product for defects and codes
  • Work scheduled shift and extended hours as required
  • Complete assigned weekly preventative maintenance and planned work orders
  • Maintain a daily shift call log
  • Generate and close SAP work orders


Education and/or Experience

  • A minimum of two years experience in the repair and maintenance of filling and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience
  • High School diploma or GED

Language Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, written and verbally

Mathematical Skills

  • Good math skills

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
