 Job Summary

Operate and maintain the computerized preventive maintenance/parts inventory system and Identify, implement approaches to improve cost management and revenue enhancement opportunities by applying process improvement methodologies. Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to identify opportunities through development of analysis, reporting, metrics and change management that raise visibility to achieve team goals.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 

  • Create, modify and optimize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). This include equipment list, BOM, PM Plan, schedule.
  • Manage the work order process to ensure a robust and thorough use of the system
  • Works with equipment manufacturers and maintenance staff on set up of preventive maintenance tasks and spare parts inventory for supported equipment.
  • Operates SAP PM Program: Create weekly PM and corrective Plan for the maintenance department
  • Coordinate and work closely with planning, production and maintenance on needed line downtime and prioritization of activities.
  • Choose and apply appropriate Continuous Improvement tools in a way that will improve production line efficiency, line capacity, and process reliability. Include but not limited to break down elimination or analyses, lost scene Investigation and Root cause analyses
  • Support continuous improvement activities at the plant.
  • Collaborate with Parts Room Clerks to develop, implement and optimize the part kitting process
  • Support Parts Room Clerks sourcing efforts when additional help is needed
  • Communicate opportunities, issues and results to various audiences, including stakeholders, process owners and project teams
  • Train Maintenance Staff on the basic use of SAP.
  • Generates back order report, inventory and PM productivity reports for Management.
  • Supports Plant Maintenance Manager on special projects as needed.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, GMPs, and SOPs.
  • Must be able to fill in as a back up to the Parts Room Clerks and Maintenance Supervisor if necessary
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.

 

Qualification & Experience Requirements

 

Education, Training:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience plus 3 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance planning or inventory coordination.

 

Experience Required:

 

  • Strong Maintenance Program experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP
  • Preferred: 2 + years of experience in Operations / Logistics / Food and beverage

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrate ability and capability to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressure
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Technicially strong in being able to understand manufacturing and packaging equipment as well as complex diagrams.
  • Thorough knowledge in the field of industrial maintenance
  • Through understanding of engineering principles and maintenance practices
  • Strong multi-tasking competency
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends and holidays as necessary
  • Ability to work with amino acids, vitamins and fine chemicals in powder and liquid form as well as allergen products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and written
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to interpret bar graphs
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new applications as required

Typical Environmental Conditions

  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment, light traffic).
  • May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e. production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic).
  • May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals.
  • May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.

 

Travel Requirements

  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
