Job Summary

The Procurement Operations Site Manager will manage a team of procurement professionals in a rapidly expanding, fast moving, and complex business.  Will do so by supporting the delivery of the strategy, managing risk, supporting cost savings initiatives, achieving KPI’s and ensuring consistent delivery of products and services while ensuring the day to day operations delivers and runs efficiently.

 The manager and the team will support and provide best in class service to both internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (not restrictive)

  • Effectively manage the day to day procurement operations team through aligning resources, acting as the link between category management and Product Supply (supply chain), managing suppliers as well as plant issues to ensure  best in class assurance of supply and services:
    • Cordinate with BU management to develop and drive organizational strategy. Coordinate with the category managers to meet those goals and optimize supply chain performance
    • Cordinate and collaborate with the category managers to maintain effective supplier relationships to drive transactional and operational efficiency
    • Cllaborate across cross functional teams to identify and mitigate risk in the supply chain and ensure continuity of supply
    • Identify pportunities across all operations within organization to optimize efficiencies and achieve lowest total costs
  • Lead, develop, and grow a high performance team of talented professionals, demonstrating superior leadership in line with the Glanbia values
  • Establishes the proper and collaborative team environment to ensure there is a strong customer focus in all activities of the function at all times
  • Own the overall Procure to Pay (PtoP) process for the site
    • Wrk closely with the Procurement Centers of Excellence (COE) to improve PtoP processes within the organization
    • Manage master data maintenance fr the BU (new material and vendor setup and any changes to these)
    • Review open PO report, if appropriate) and compare against safety stock and open sales orders to ensure on time delivery
    • Cordinate efforts with Shared Services and drive KPI achievement (includes managing the LIV Log)
  • Support Procurement COE in driving the Glanbia Performance System (GPS) methodology focused on sustained improvement across the local supply chain and  procurement operations
  • Minimize supply chain interruption by ensuring prompt and effective resolution of supplier non-conformances
  • Contractual agreement negotiations:
    • Negtiate with local suppliers, as directed by Regional Ops Mgr/Dategory Mgrs to ensure that service, quality, added value, total cost, security of supply are delivered
    • Ensure all cntractual agreements are properly executed in conjunction with Category Managers (where applicable, i.e. non-category management strategic plan)
  • Demand Planning Management (where applicable):
    • Identify and define MRP guidelines to develop detailed demand plans that will result in high forecast accuracy and effectively manage material availability
    • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement and Product Planning to generate forecasts
    • Ensure demand planning accuracy by evaluating, reporting, and adjusting as necessary
  • Works with the Category Managers to implement local sourcing and local category management for items outside not covered in the total Procurement category strategies
  • Foster the Glanbia culture of “The Customer Champion” through outstanding service with a “can do” attitude
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

Qualification & Experience Requirements

Education, Training:

  • University degree in related field preferred  (equivalent experience in lieu of education may be considered)

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of business or related experience
  • Working knowledge of and experience with food or fortification manufacturing environment is preferred.

Language, Computer &   Numeracy:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English required
  • Experience with and solid understanding of ERP/MRP systems, preferably SAP with the ability and desire to work within and progress such complex systems with eTender, SharePoint and Business Objects experience also preferred
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong math skills, and knowledge of the metric system, are required
  • Heavy Data analysis including MS Excel pivot tables and spreadsheets to do calculations on cost potency changes, percentages, etc

Travel Requirements

  • Semi-Regular domestic and international travel to visit internal stakeholders in other regions, tradeshows, suppliers, and other events as required (20%).
