Training Manager - Corona, CA.



  • Responsible for the effective development, coordination and presentation of training programs for all employees.



  • Identifies Company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives.
  • Plans, develops, administers, conducts, and coordinates training programs for all levels of employees and contractors including but not limited to new employee orientation training, annual required training, new and revised SOP’s, work instructions, Job aids (ERP and non-ERP), job specific training, and training to meet state and federal requirements.
  • Conducts and documents employee re-training as required.
  • Develops, writes and maintains a library of effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Reviews, evaluates and modifies existing programs to continuously improve and ensure effectiveness.
  • Schedules and books training sessions for training programs ensuring proper facility size, location and set up.
  • Coordinates with employees and their respective supervisors on a timely basis to ensure attendance.
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization and conducts all activities in a professional manner.
  • Works effectively as a team member with other members of the organization.
  • Maintains and uses the training software to assure that all employees’ training requirements are current.
  • Maintains a tracking system to be used for all required and optional training performed at the company including but not limited to training performed by the training manager, all supervisors, all managers for all levels of employees and contractors. 
  • Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
  • Ensures that training records for each employee are maintained.
  • Works effectively to help ensure long term customer needs are met.
  • Participates in customer, third party and internal audits as needed.
    • Participates on committees in a positive and results driven manner when requested.
    • Completes additional tasks and projects as requested by management.

    • Lead initiatives to support innovation and continuous improvement activities
    • Acts as a liaison between new engineering projects and operations to ensure proper training is conducted for new equipment
    • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and measurement criteria to assess effectiveness of training program and monitor compliance metrics to enable accurate and timely reporting of key learning metrics.
    • Lead training across multiple shifts to support training initiatives 



  • Required education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • At least 3 years, preferably 5 years, of supervisory/teaching/training experience in a food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to create momentum and foster organizational change.
  • Creative ability, writing proficiency, visual graphics design ability.
  • Good organizer, meticulous, and good public speaker.
  • At ease moderating large groups.



  • Must be flexible and responsive to change. 
  • Ability to function independently in a multi-task environment, as well as part of a team. 
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal direction.
  • General knowledge of the food manufacturing process is helpful.
  • Ability to work with all levels of employees in a productive manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to, educate, convince, build relationships and influence others.
  • Must be able to complete forms and write in a legible manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to follow protocol faithfully.
  • Ability to contribute to Watson’s goals and objectives.
  • Must be computer literate with strong data entry and typing skills in MS Office suite.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
  • Must be highly organized and have good attention to detail.

  • Regularly required to stand, reach, bend and walk about the building including climbing up and down a full flight of stairs.
  • May be required to carry, lift, pull, push, or otherwise move audio visual equipment from one location to the next while setting up the training facility.
  • Regularly works at a computer typing and entering data.
  • May be required to travel to other Glanbia Nutritionals Sites for support
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required throughout the day.
  • Standing for long periods of time may be required while proving training.




  • Lab coats/uniforms, safety glasses, dust masks, etc. as required when on the production floor.
  • Any other PPE as required/recommended.



  • Works in an office environment and in a manufacturing area with air borne particles and moderate noise.



  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
