Utilities / Waste Water Operator

Position Overview:

Provide technical support in a professional manner to the manufacturing operation located at the Corona plant.  The requirements listed below are representative skill and/or abilities required. This includes knowledge and experience in boiler and steam systems, HVAC, freon refrigeration systems, air compressors, plumbing, electrical/lighting, water treatment, use of hand tools, mechanically inclined.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Observe the daily manufacturing process and communicate and/or implement improvements to the operation.

 

  • Maintain the operation in a manner that conforms to Local, State, AIB and Food Safety Standards required by Aeptic Solutions.

 

  • Follow Aseptic Solutions/Glanbia guidelines for Good Manufacturing Practices when performing the requirements of this position.

 

  • Perform daily rounds and take readings of plant utility equipment, which would include boiler/steam systems, compressed air systems, cooling towers, Freon refrigerated systems, HVAC, pumps, fans, wastewater system, RO/Nano systems, etc…

 

  • Perform preventative maintenance on utility equipment and plant systems.

 

  • Examine, inspect, repair or replace components on plant utility equipment, to maintain operational standards and efficiencies of Aseptic Solutions/Glanbia.

 

 

  • Respond to trouble calls relating to utility systems.

 

  • Secure a Forklift Operator Certification within 60 days of employment.

 

  • Proficiency in the work order module of the Maintenance Management System used in the Corona facility.

 

  • Cycle equipment or system to assure safe and correct operation.

 

  • Set up and safely operate tools typically found in a maintenance environment, (lathe, drill press, grinder, welder, etc.).

 

  • Be able to work and handle chemicals safely of a caustic or acidic nature.

 

  • Enforce company policies, safety procedures

 

  • Level U1 competent in performing all daily tasks required in all areas of utility plant as well as performing customer compliant testing within the different systems maintained by the utilities group.

 

  • Communicate quickly and effectively at all levels of the organization and perform all assignments given by Supervisors or Upper Management Team

 

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED), with a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with utility/facility support equipment.
  • License or Certification with boiler operation.

 

 

 

Language Skills

  • Ability to verbally communicate in a technical manner with other Aseptic Solutions employees and contacts.  This may include outside vendors, suppliers, contractors, and customers.  The format may be either written in the form of a report or verbal during discussion.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.

Mathematical Skills Qualifications

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations that maintenance encounters.

 

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
