Job Summary

Glanbia Performance Nutrition is seeking an accounting manager to join the Finance team at the Global headquarters in Downers Grove. It is highly preferred that this individual be able to contribute broadly across a very collaborative accounting function and have the desire and leadership abilities to take on greater responsibilities over time. This role is ideally suited for someone looking to take a new step in an accounting career and who enjoys working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. There will be opportunities to learn our business inside and out, work directly with other functions within the organization and, of course, for career advancement as the company continues to rapidly grow.

 

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Description

 

  • Manage accounting staff in all day to day accounting functions
  • Ensure day-to-day accounting is consistent with company's corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the senior and staff accountants during the month end close process and facilitate the distribution of accurate, reliable financial information to management.
  • Work with internal and external auditors for a timely and efficient audit process
  • Work with management to implement balance sheet and cash flow budgets and monitor these budget variances throughout the year.
  • Communicate with various department managers and propose/implement procedural changes to improve paperwork flow and system updating.
  • Maintain a comprehensive control environment.  Identify areas for control improvement and working with business partners to implement change to improve the control environment as weaknesses arise.
  • Develop the accounting team beneath them to support future advancement of the team as opportunities arise.

Required Experience:

  • Previous management experience strongly preferred

  • Strong PC skills and understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task to hit deadlines
  • Detail Oriented
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage short term and long term projects

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year university or college

  • 5-7 years in public accounting or corporate accounting environment.

Education Level

  • Candidate has completed CPA (or equivalent certification).
