In this role, the Brand Manager is responsible for the development and execution of brand strategies and marketing plans that will drive and achieve the business objectives for the North American market. Key areas of responsibility include project management and commercialization of new product launches, development and execution of activation tactics, consumption reporting, financial analysis, and overall protein powder business management and as well as budget management.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Brand Management:

  • Develops market and competitive analysis leveraging syndicated and propriety data to aid in annual marketing plan development
  • Analyzes market trends and recommend changes/optimization to marketing and product strategies based on analysis and feedback
  • Develop growth plan for core powder business
  • Responsible for managing and reporting of brand budget
  • Maximize profitability of assigned product groups
  • Develop and implement annual brand plans
  • Ensures Legal approval of all documents, contracts and materials that touch external stakeholders

Advertising and Promotion Management:

  • Works closely with the Director to bring activation plans to life through agency relationships
  • Owns the development of activation plans for existing and new product lines within assigned product groups
  • Partners with internal creative team to brief and develop creative to execute against core protein media marketing plan and social media plans
  • Assists in development of an content strategies and themes for core powder business
  • Ensures the most engaging messaging reaches target consumers
  • Assist in the development and communication of brand promo priorities to enable effective customer trade strategies

Innovation Management:

  • Leads the product development process and develops business case to assess market potential
  • Partners with other functional areas to quickly bring viable new products to market
  • Commercializes line extensions that can be launched within 12 months

Other:

  • Candidate should already have an existing passion and knowledge of the sports nutrition/fitness/wellness category
  • Performs day-to-day business management activities, and executes other projects or activities as requested

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of brand marketing experience required, preferably in like industry or consumer packaged goods
  • We work at a fast-pace, and this role will require multi-threaded work streams
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about sports nutrition, fitness, wellness industry is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve multiple objectives with varying timelines
  • Communicates effectively and builds relationships with internal/external stakeholders
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to persuade audiences (internal and external key stakeholders)
  • Drives innovative business improvements
  • Quant & Qual Research experience
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to influence  teams to implement key business initiatives
  • Team player and ability to work well and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Results oriented with high level of initiative and assertiveness
  • Strong cross-functional project management skills
  • Ability to comprehensively understand and convert consumer, category, competitor, and channel/customer insights into actionable plans
  • Self-starting problem solver the effectively used fact-base rationale
  • Organized and responsive
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • P&L/budget management experience
  • Ability to manage and coach direct reports and interns
