Corporate Counsel

Job Summary:

  • Glanbia Performance Nutrition is seeking a detail-oriented and hard-working Corporate Counsel who will report directly to its Senior Counsel.  The Corporate Counsel will be primarily responsible for the review, drafting and negotiation of third-party agreements to further business objectives while effectively managing risk.  This role will collaborate and interface with several other departments.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced legal department with great potential for rapid personal growth and professional development.  While our corporate office is located in Downers Grove, this position has the potential to be fully remote or hybrid.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Draft, review and negotiate various third-party agreements, including supply, services, endorsement, licensing, confidentiality and indemnity agreements, across all functions as needed for the business to achieve its strategic objectives
  • Provide creative and proactive advice on a broad range of legal issues, such as employment law, consumer law and data privacy, as requested by the Senior Counsel, to proactively manage legal risks where exposures exist
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all company policies and procedures, including laws and regulations applicable to the business
  • Develop relationships to become a trusted advisor, creative problem-solver, and partner to cross-functional groups

 Education/Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent experience: J.D. degree with strong academic credentials from a top U.S. law school, and a bachelor’s degree from a top university
  • Years of experience: at least 1 year of related legal experience, preferably with time spent in a top-tier law firm and/or global consumer products company in the Food/Beverage industry
    • General business and commercial law experience, including advising clients on commercial transactions and business development needs
    • Experience with employment and labor matters, including drafting employment agreements and policies, considered a plus
    • Experience with litigation considered a plus
