Primary Responsibilities in Customer Planning & Strategy
- Leader of the cross functional linkage between the brand organization and the customer organization across the entire business unit for all sales strategy issues
- Sets the best practices, business unit wide, and assures adherence on the team to the best practices in commercialization of category/brands plans for specific channels
- Reinforcing the category platform (based on customer, consumer and buyer insights), will ensure the customer team’s ability to maximize growth and share with customers.
- Leads the principles of product, placement, pricing and promotion , and business planning process across the Americas business unit
- Fully accountable for developing and partnering with brand and category management on all brand/product AMPS (assortment, merchandise, price and shelving) principles by category/customer, and driving these principles into customer joint business plans across the business unit
- The lead in organizing and delivering support to the customer sales teams to enable the achievement of sales and profit plans for the customers
- Responsible for the efficient utilization of trade to achieve brand/company goals
- Cross functional leader assisting the brand teams on innovative and impactful branded shopper marketing programs and customer exclusive product offerings across all relevant channels of trade.
- Develop and drive best practices in conducting analysis for, and assisting in the preparation of, key customer presentations
- Building and leveraging relationships with senior level cross functional counterparts including general managers and chiefs of divisions in sales, marketing and finance
- Partner with trade development team on ensuring the efficient utilization of trade funds and pricing to achieve brand/company goals
- Participate in the development of brand strategy, marketing plans and financial LE’s.
- Accountable for the execution of all trade level (customer-related) shows & events by the sales event planning team
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Regularly communicates and cascades key corporate initiatives, ensuring organizational alignment and employee engagement.

- Manages all financial and human resource deployment for assigned area.
- Fulfilling responsibility for human and financial resource deployment decisions across categories and compliance to sales policies
- Leads the talent and performance management of reporting staff, while identifying and developing top-potential individuals who can fill the succession planning needs of the company in the future. Aligns the goals of team members with the needs of the team and broader organization.
- Lead the development of a team of direct reports including:
- Yearly development plan review and development
- Talent profiling
- Coaching and mentorship
- Co-creating and developing personal development plans
- Motivating a team through leadership vision to tackle the tactical issues that accomplish the team’s mission.
Skills
- Bachelors/University degree in Business Administration, MBA Preferred
- 10+ years sales, brand, channel/trade marketing experience in North America.
- Experience in direct customer sales, business analytics, or customer or category marketing required.
- Experience managing a portfolio of brands within consumer products (CPG and Hardlines)
- Experience developing and managing budgets and leading large teams with broad span of control
- Broad exposure to multiple retail classes of trade – E-commerce, Mass, Club, Grocery, Specialty/Department, Dollar, Drug
- Exceptional analytical skills and acute attention to details
- Strong project management skills, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and exceptional drive for results and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and lead cross-functional teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to present data in an organized manner with advanced skills in an executive setting
- Travel requirements vary based on company and customer needs
- Exceptional leader possessing strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, complex, matrix and fluid environment.
- Highly influential with decision-makers up and down two or more levels, with and without direct authority
- Demonstrated ability to build organizational trade/customer marketing capabilities, develop sales strategy and drive execution with a diverse team.
- Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives.
